WØØLS

WØØLS is the project of CA-based electronic multi-instrumentalist Brock Woolsey.

Using a mix of acoustic and digital instruments, his work is a collage of styles inspired by ambient, dance, and guitar-driven music. He composes a sound characterized by textured synths, fuzzy tones, soft pianos, heavy low end, and driving drum patterns; taking inspiration from the the likes of Jon Hopkins, James Blake, Tycho, Shlohmo, and Weval.

The title track of the album, "Santa Rosa," was inspired by a sailing trip to the Channel Islands off the coast of California. The artist spent several days circumnavigating the island, hiking, fishing, and drinking with good company. "The trip inspired new beginnings as nature provided a type of healing. Forever inspired by the beauty of the island of Santa Rosa" says Woolsey.
